It would appear that the ethical companies should provide a similar formula to this. The socials should be fully catered with food, drink and champagne or the like. You should not be expected to pay for the food or drink for the ladies at these particular events. The social night should be held somewhere like a banquet room in a hotel or private entertainment complex. You should be able to indicate any ladies who you would like to meet here. Anyone you meet who you do like, you just ask for her phone number. The ladies should all be screened at the front door. The ladies should all be different at each and every social night. The ladies should all be personal invitees and not just females invited in off the street. Depending on your tour, you should have the opportunity to meet somewhere between 500-2000 females. Most tour packages seemed to include buffet breakfasts. Make sure your tour will provide you with a private hotel room that you will not be sharing with another client. It is a great idea to take along photos to show of your home, family, town, lifestyle etc; so that any prospective fiances can obtain a better idea of the life you will be offering them. The accommodation that I saw as being provided in these romance tours was astonishingly luxurious, far and away better than any other country that I saw. So if night clubs and swanky sophisticated accommodation are on your holiday wish list then this could be the destination for you. Buffet breakfasts were also included. You should be provided with interpreters, 24-hour guidance from staff, 2-3 social nights, a city tour and a metro tour showing you how to use the Sky Train. Your hotel should be just minutes from the nightlife. You should be entitled to unlimited introductions much as described above. The other benefits of Thailand are the great golf courses and the fact that you can have medical and dental procedures done in hospitals there for about 90% less than in the State. By Yuwanda Black This morning, I attended a conference given at my local Chamber of Commerce. It was entitled, “How to Bring Your Business to the Next Level.” The reason I mention it is that the speaker covered one thing that most small business owners don’t give much thought to, their “company vision.” Many small business owners start out with various reasons for wanting to strike out on their own - more time with family, more control over time, less commuting, etc. So, they say, “I want to start my own business.” Well, as was so eloquently pointed out in this seminar, any business needs to have a company vision. But, “that’s for big corporations, not a small enterprise like mine” you may be thinking. NOT! Every business entity needs a company vision. You exponentially increase your chance of success with one, and exponentially decrease your chance of success without one. Why? A company vision forces you to dig deep to find out where you want to take your company. Even if your goal is as simple as “make $500 a week,” a vision will force you to crystallize where you want to be and, more importantly, why. If you’re starting a business, eventually, you want it to run without you, because I’m hoping that you want to have the option of not working one day. I know all of this may sound like big business, corporate mumbo jumbo, but trust me - as someone who’s had two businesses in the last 10 years - it’s these “intangibles” (eg, Corporate Vision Statement, Company Mission Statement, etc.) that lead to the “tangibles” (ie, writing a business plan, doing a SWOT Analysis, creating a marketing plan, etc.). I always overlooked the intangibles and looking back realized that if I had implemented even a quarter of what I now know, I would be splitting my time between two successful businesses. FYI, a SWOT Analysis is where you analyze the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities & Threats of/to your business. From this you will be able to “identify critical success factors,” eg, what are the keys to success for your business. From this will flow your marketing plan, eg, who to target, where, when, why, how, etc. After identifying and analyzing all of this information you will be able to “Set Goals” for your small business (make sure all goals are measureable). Eg, “increase revenue” is too general of a goal. Try, “add two new clients a month for the next six months.” This gives you something concrete to focus on, a specific measure around which to build a marketing plan, etc. As you can see, one measure builds on the next. Skipping one is like trying to build a house without a foundation. So, even though you are “just a small business owner trying to make a living” you will have a much better chance of success if you take the time to do this type of critical thinking up front. Although she posed questions Id written about before, I never thought about the idea specifically in terms of restaurants. So, this article sums up our discussion with 5 first impression tips for anyone whose job is to wow their guests not just with great food, but with unforgettable hospitality. How important are first impressions to restaurant owners? First impressions are formed based on the primacy effect, which states that information people see or learn about you is more powerful than what is learned later. Therefore, when people initially see a small piece of you, thats all they know about you and the restaurant, for that matter. So I think no matter how delicious the food is, how ambient the room looks or how reasonable the prices are, if a guest walks in and some small behavior rubs them the wrong way, he may never eat there again. I can recall several times in my life when Ive walked out of a restaurant and stated, I cant believe what just happened Im never coming back! And I never did. What do your recommend companies do to make a good first impression for guests?
